3 Injured In Pender Released

A spokeswoman for Pender Community Hospital says three people injured by a tornado have been treated and released, but none were from Pilger.

Spokeswoman Melissa Kelly said the hospital received three patients with minor injuries on Monday. All three were allowed to leave later that evening.

Kelly says the patients all lived in rural areas west of Pender. She says the hospital was placed on standby Monday to receive as many as 12 tornado victims, but no others were brought in for medical care.

Pender Community Hospital was one of three hospitals that saw tornado victims Monday night. The others were Providence Medical Center in Wayne, which treated three patients, Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, which was treating 16. One was transferred to an Omaha hospital.
