Bellevue Officer Involved Shooting

Just before 12:30 Bellevue Police were sent to a home at 36th and Emiline Street near 38th and Harrison, to check out a noise complaint.  Officers talked to the homeowner, 48 year old John Tilley and gave him a verbal warning about the noise.

A short time later officers  saw a full size black truck crash into several cars parked along the Emiline Street.  The truck then jumped a curb, went through a fence, through residential yards and another fence.  The truck also rammed three Bellevue Police cruisers.  That is when officers fired shots at the truck.

Paramedics were called to the seen and the driver of the truck, John Tilley, was pronounced dead at the scene.

One officer suffered injuries and was taken to a hospital and was treated and released.

Officers involved have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
