Convicted Killer Gets Three Life Terms

A Douglas County judge on Tuesday sentenced Anthony Davis to three life sentences for the murders of Miguel Avalos and his two sons.

Davis avoided the death penalty earlier when a jury found no aggravating circumstances in the case.

The killings took place in 2012. He was found guilty on three counts of First Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony.

Prosecutors say Davis planned to rob Miguel Avalos in July, 2012 during a drug deal. He shot Miguel and his sons, Jose and Miguel Avalos, Jr. in the head.
