As the Fourth of July draws closer, fireworks will go on sale Wednesday around the metro area. The Omaha Police Department is reminding citizens about the City's fireworks ordinance.
Consumer fireworks may be discharged in Omaha from June 25th through July 4th, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.
You must be 16 years or older to possess, use or discharge consumer fireworks.
Minors ages 12-15 year olds may discharge consumer fireworks if under the direct supervision of an adult who is at least 19 years old.
People found in violation of the ordinance could be cited for a criminal violation.
