Fort Calhoun Station To Test Siren System

Fort Calhoun Station To Test Siren System

The Omaha Public Power District will conduct its annual test of the siren alert system around the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Station on Tuesday morning (8-26).

The tests involve all radio-controlled sirens located within a 10-mile radius of Fort Calhoun Station.

The sirens will sound for a full four minutes sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.  Because this is only a test, no action by the public is required.

Anyone noticing a siren malfunction during the test on Tuesday, August 26, is asked to call the Omaha Public Power District as (402) 636-2000.
