Update:  Six year old Taelor Fentress was released from the hospital Friday afternoon and is back home with her family.

In an effort to try to curb any retaliation violence following Thursday night’s shooting of a six year old girl, the Omaha Police Department is stepping up patrols in the neighborhood near 41st and Ida.

Taelor Fentress was shot in the face Thursday night on her sixth birthday.  Detectives have not made any arrests, but police say they do have persons of interest they are looking at.

Police are looking for a light colored SUV (pictured).  Anyone has information about the shooting is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 444-STOP. There is a 10,000 cash reward for this shooting.

When a person contacts Crime Stoppers, they are assigned a random code from a computer. All information is stripped using encryption software, so no one could ever be traced.

If the tip leads to an arrest, the tipster is given a password and instructions on what bank to redeem their reward.

Tipsters are 100% anonymous from the time they give the tip to the time they pick up the cash.
