Brandon Wolf of Fremont was critically injured in a fiery three vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Stanton County, Nebraska.  Investigators say an SUV ran a stop sign and struck a tanker truck.

The tanker was then hit by a semi driven by Wolf.  All three vehicles erupted into flames.  The tanker driver and a couple in the SUV were killed.  Wolf's family released a statement Friday afternoon through UNMC.

"Although this is very tragic for us, our hearts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those people who were lost in the accident. We are actually the blessed ones. Brandon is still in critical condition, but he is improving daily and we are cautiously optimistic about his recovery. He has a long road ahead of him and it will take a lot of hard work to fully recover."

The family says "The Brandon Wolf Donation Account" has been set up at Wells Fargo banks in Omaha and at First State Bank and Trust in Fremont for those who wish to help Brandon and his family.

"We would like to ask the public to respect our privacy at this time so we can focus on Brandon and his recovery. We appreciate all the prayers and emotional support we’ve received from friends, family and community members and would welcome continued support as Brandon’s condition improves."
