Man Sentenced For Role In Teen's Murder

Prosecutors say Joshua Vanackeren was behind the wheel of a van in October, 2012 when another person shot and killed 16 year old Montrell Wiseman in north Omaha.

Authorities say Wiseman, who had no criminal record, was shot because he happened to be wearing a Husker shirt in a rival gang's neighborhood.  The men in the van, including some gang members, thought a Blood gang member was responsible for the murder of their friend several days earlier.

The 24 year old Vanackeren will have to spend at least 30 years in prison. The man who prosecutors say pulled the trigger, Angelo Tolbert, was sentenced to life in prison last year.

After the sentence of Vanackeren Wiseman's father, Arthur Plunkett, had this reaction.
