The Nebraska Humane Society received a tip about animals living in filthy conditions. Armed with a search warrant, animal control officers went into the home Friday morning and removed the animals.
Spokesman Mark Langan says the conditions inside the home were so bad that animal control officers had to wear protective gear.
Langan says 17 chickens, two dogs, five cats, some fish and a pet mouse were removed from the feces filled home Friday morning. He says the animals were found all over the house in unlivable conditions. They will be examined at the shelter.
The owner was not home at the time but Langan says she will face numerous animal cruelty charges.
