The fire broke out around 10:15 Friday morning near 28th and Harrison.  When firefighters from Omaha and Bellevue arrived, there was heavy smoke and flames coming from the front porch area.

Fire officials say a mother and her five month old child were sleeping at the time.  A neighbor knocked on the back door and was able to wake them up and get them out of the house.

The house sustained heavy damage but the cause is not yet known.
