Utility officials say the number of customers still without power in the Omaha area has dropped below 1,800.

Omaha Public Power District officials tell 1110 KFAB that restoration of power to all its customers will be completed by 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Crews from OPPD and neighboring utilities have been making repairs ever since 70 mph winds in Monday's storm knocked out power to 52,000 customers.

The storm toppled trees across Omaha and damaged some buildings and vehicles.
