Several people were injured including two firefighters in an early morning apartment fire Wednesday morning near Lincoln High School.

Around 3:30 a.m. Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to a 2-alarm apartment fire near 20th and "J."

Lincoln Deputy Fire Chief Derald Murrell says the fire spread quickly to the second and third floors of the 9-Plex trapping people inside.

Murrell says both firefighters suffered minor injuries, but didn't mention the condition of the four residents that were taken to the hospital.

The Red Cross is helping with temporary relocation for all the residents.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
