UNO officials have spent the weeks since the February 26 fire working with architects, engineers and insurance adjusters to determine the best course of action for Building G at Scott Village.

Spokesman Charley Reed says the plan is to reconstruct the building by replacing all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in the entire building and rebuilding the roof and the third floor.

All interior finishes will be replaced. The goal is to have the building reconstructed and ready for use by students for Fall 2014.  The fire displaced 50 students and was caused by careless smoking.  No one was injured.
