UPDATE: Police Identify Murder Victim Through Fingerprints

The body of a man found along the bank of the Big Blue River just south of Beaver Crossing in Seward County last Wednesday has been identified as 34-year-old Hai Sinh Nguyen of Lincoln.

Nguyen was initially identified through fingerprints. A photo of a tattoo and a description of the body shared with the public on Friday also resulted in information that helped lead to his identification.

A passerby called 911 after spotting what appeared to be a body, south of the bridge off of 406 Road.

Results of the autopsy are not being released as the investigation into the man’s death continues.

“The autopsy revealed he did not die of natural causes and his death is being investigated as a homicide,” said Nebraska State Patrol Investigative Services Lieutenant Bob Frank.

Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to call the Nebraska State Patrol at (402) 479-4921 or the Statewide Crime Stoppers at 1-800-422-1494.
