Martina McBride has spent much of her career raising money and awareness for many charities such as the YWCA, ACM Lifting Lives, Stand Up to Cancer and the National Domestic Violence Hotline. Now, the singer is making a difference in the lives of residents of Guatemala's Covenant House La Alianza -- a home for young girls who have been orphaned, abandoned or were victims of abuse and human trafficking. The singer's efforts will help provide musical instruments, classes and care for the girls, aged 9-15. "Having visited Covenant House earlier this year and seen firsthand the great work they do for teens, I'm excited about this new project," Martina tells Country Weekly. "I know as well as anyone how much music can change lives. It makes me happy to think music is going to be introduced to a group of young girls who can truly benefit from it." Martina and her charitable organization, Team Martina, are hosting the "Everlasting Music for Kids" fundraising event at So far, fans have donated more than $25,000.
