Taylor Swift may be Fearless, but she's not stupid. It was announced on Tuesday that the singer's concert scheduled for June 9 in Thailand had been canceled due to a military coup in the country. Local concert organizer BEC-Tero Entertainment said in a statement that the show was being called off "due to recent events. This has been a difficult decision for all parties," the company said, adding that the singer expressed "regret and sincere apologies to the fans in Thailand." Taylor tweeted a message of regret and support for fans in that country on Tuesday. The coup was the military's 12th successful takeover of Thailand's government. Although many big-name concert attractions have played in that country, they began to back off as the political unrest escalated. In late February, Eric Clapton canceled a concert after violence erupted in Bangkok, resulting in the deaths of five people, four of them children. The remainder of Taylor's Red tour dates in Asia, are slated go on as scheduled, kicking off May 30 in Shanghai, China. See a list of the dates here.
