Sick of seeing political posts on Facebook? Here's how to block them - SFGate
With news that a growing number of Americans are sick of seeing political Facebook posts clogging up their timeline, it seems likely that people might want to take a breather.
Luckily, there are a few ways to eliminate posts you don't want to see on your Facebook, and not all of them come with the awkwardness of having to block, mute, or unfriend everyone.
First up is a browser extension called Social Fixer.
You can use Social Fixer for all kinds of filtering; in addition to the Election/Politics 2016 filter, you can also eliminate posts containing TV show spoilers, sponsored posts — even posts about Pokemon Go. It works in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
Once you download the extension for your browser, log into Facebook. You should see a wrench icon in the top right corner of your page, so click it, then click "Filters." Here's where your filtering options are. Select the green box with the plus sign in it next to "Elections/Politics 2016" and you're done. When you refresh the page, your Facebook should be Trump and Clinton-free. There is one caveat: it doesn't work on mobile, so when you're using your phone you'll still see the same old political opinions.
