OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Friday morning, Mason Mischke was suspended from Millard South High School after suspicions of vaping on school property. He said he was hurt as school resource officers apprehended him and took him to the school office.
Mason tells 6 News he and a group of students were vaping in the bathroom when they were caught by a teacher. He admits to vaping that morning, but he said he cooperated and went to the school office.
When administrators asked to search the teen’s backpack, he refused. He told 6 News his mother, Tracy Mischke, previously told him he didn’t need to let them search without need. He then told administrators he was going into the hall to call his mother.
“I heard, ‘Get off of me. Get off of me,” and you could clearly hear his phone being bounced down the hall. You could hear the scuffle and commotion,” Tracy said.
Tracy said her son had been subjected to searches in the past, and each of those searches came up empty.
Mason said he was walking the halls while on the phone, and once he saw officers, he turned to tell them he was going back to the office.
