Man Plunges from Bob Kerry Bridge into Missouri River

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- A man was hospitalized Tuesday morning after jumping from the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge into the Missouri River.

Water rescue teams were called out around 9:15.

As those teams responded, two park service employees who had witnessed the plunge made their way to the water's edge and were able to coax the person to shore.

He was initially identified only as a man in his 50s.
