Booze and Bad Weather Leads to Omaha Metro Crash

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - The combination of weather and alcohol consumption caused a crash near Benson Park Dr. and Ames Ave. early Sunday morning.

Officers were called to the scene just after 3 a.m. where they determined a 2006 Cadillac CTS was westbound on Ames Ave. when it went over the median, into oncoming traffic lanes and eventually struck a light pole on the other side.

Investigators believe weather and alcohol were contributing factors. The Cadillac was the only car involved.

The driver of the vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries to the head. He was identified as Kernyang Chut, 21, and was cited for driving under influence, driving under suspension, reckless driving and no proof of insurance.

His passenger, Khair Majouk, 21, also suffered non-life threatening injuries to the head.
