Was nice to take a short trip this past week with the family. Spent the first part of the week in a house on the Lake of the Ozarks with extended family, and then made our way to Oklahoma City to do a little site seeing. Enjoy~
Not too shabby. This was my view for about 3 evenings last week.
Tried my hand at catching my dinner a few times. Thank God for hot dogs and hamburgers or I would have starved. They weren't biting on what I was offering.
My Dad and nephews had more luck with the fish than I did...even throwing them BREAD in the water. Geez~
After our stay on the lake for a few days, my wife, folkks and me headed down to Oklahoma City for a few days to catch the sites.
I had never visited the OKC Bombing memorial. It was as breathtaking as I've always heard. So important to never forget those lives lost!~
We weren't far...so next stop had to be the hometown of Garth Brooks. How cool to see where he grew up!~
The childhood home of Garth Brooks!! 408 Yukon Ave in Yukon, Oklahoma.
You can visit and pay respects to Garth's parents inside the Yukon cemetary. There are plots laid out for Garth and all of his siblings as well in case they choose to be buried there.
Next, we made a trek to see the USA Softball Hall of Fame Complex and field. So neat to see in person. We watch the softball finals every year.
Yes...it's true. My wife can't take me anywhere.
Didn't pull into town, but saw the watertower to Toby Keith's hometown.
Even as a diehard Husker fan, I couldn't be that close and not stop by and see Sooner campus!~ Pretty cool to see OU Land in person.
And on our last night in OKC, we caught an Oklahoma City Dodgers baseball game. Beautiful ballpark!~
And finally, a picture my family would probably rather forget, but I have to share my outfit I wore to go tubin with my nephews on the Lake of the Ozarks! Yeah Buddy!!!! Was a great family vacation. Looking forward to the next!!
