Carrie Underwood Says Valentine's Day Is Her 'Least Favorite Holiday'

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher want to treat every day like it's Valentine's Day. The country superstar turned to Instagram on Sunday (February 14), to share an adorable snapshot of the couple bundled up together in the snow alongside a caption in which she explained why she isn't a fan of the holiday.

"Anyone who knows me knows that Valentine’s Day is my least favorite holiday," she wrote. "I can’t put my finger on exactly why that is but it may be because I want my true love to love me 'extra special' for 365 days out of the year...not just on the one day that he’s 'supposed' to."

She continued, "That said, everyone else has been posting the sweetest pics of them and their loves, so here’s mine. My Valentine... Every. Single. Day. Hope you all are being sweet to each other out there. ❤️"

Underwood and Fisher celebrated their 10-year wedding anniversary in July. The "Love Wins" singer turned to Instagram at the time to share several photos taken throughout their relationship alongside a message to their younger selves.

"Hey you two crazy kids. Believe it or not, some day you both will become (slightly) less awkward, you’ll grow up to have pretty cool jobs, you’ll meet backstage at some girl’s concert, fall in love, get married, have two amazing boys, and live happily ever after!" she captioned the post.

The couple got married on July 10, 2010, and now have two sons together, Isaiah and Jacob.

Musically, Underwood is gearing up for the release of her new gospel album, My Savior, arriving on March 26. On Friday (February 12), the singer gave fans a preview of the project with the release of her version of the classic Christian hymn, "Softly and Tenderly."

"Softly and Tenderly" is just one of 13 tracks featured on the upcoming album, which also includes a collaboration with gospel singer CeCe Winans, on "Great Is Thy Faithfulness."

"For this album, I chose some of the familiar hymns I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember," Underwood wrote in a social media post announcing My Savior’s track list. "These songs set the foundation for me and I hope you love them as much as I do."

My Savior, produced by Underwood and David Garcia, serves as a companion to the singer's 2020 Christmas album, My Gift.

"It’s been such a blessing to make music like this, inspirational music that is near and dear to my heart," Underwood previously said in a statement. "These two albums have been on my musical bucket list since the beginning of my career and were planned long before the events of the past year, but somehow it feels like the perfect time to share these beloved songs with the world."
