Carrie Underwood reunited with Papa Roach to perform their collaboration with an impactful message.

Underwood said she’s “so proud to call these guys my friends,” as she shared photos with the band on Instagram on Wednesday (October 9). The award-winning country artist recently joined Papa Roach on stage at FirstBank Amphitheater in Franklin, Tennessee, outside of Nashville. Together, Underwood and Papa Roach performed “Leave A Light On (Talk Away The Dark).”

Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix said when the collaboration released last year that “it’s a dream come true to have Carrie on this track,” which aims o raise awareness for suicide prevention, mental health, and the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Shaddix said Underwood’s “performance and association will raise so much awareness for suicide prevention, which is more important than ever.” Underwood added at the time that she “was honored to be invited to record ‘Leave A Light On’ with them [Papa Roach]. it’s a beautiful song and the message behind it and the band’s mission to shine a light on suicide prevention and mental health awareness has never been more important.”

Earlier this year, Underwood joined Papa Roach on stage in Las Vegas, Nevada, heading straight to the band’s show after performing her own residency. They performed “Leave A Light On” and “Last Resort,” one of the band’s most iconic hits.
