Hunter Hayes debuted his long-awaited Evergreen project on Friday morning (March 6), following a years-long process and “a lifetime of lessons.”
Hayes, 34, blended genre-spanning influences into the album, which offers messages of growth, connection and joy, per a previously-issued press release. “Wait,” “Fragile,” “Every Piece,” “Too Late,” “Around The Sun” and other songs appear on the Grammy-nominated artist's new 10-track collection.
“What started as a side-project next to Wild Blue [2019] started making more sense after completing Red Sky [2023],” Hayes shared in a caption on Instagram. “When we wrote ‘Evergreen’ the song, it felt like the beginning of its own story, but I felt that I hadn’t lived enough of it to write about it. It felt grounded, at peace and full of positive energy. For a while, I believed that I had to know so much more about all of those things before I could write about them. The most beautiful awakening was realizing that, at least for me, all of those things are daily choices and practices that I continue to grow with and grow from. I’ve said this album is a series of letters from my future self and it’s wild to see how true that is. Many of these things were dreams I wrote about before they happened, then as the album started taking shape I watched these things find their way into my life in the most unexpected ways.
“I hope this album can transport you to a place where your future and your dreams feel present and real,” he continued. “A place where all of the things you pray for and manifest are already yours and waiting for you. A place where the love you have to give to the world is abundant because the love you have for yourself is endless. You deserve it.”

“Evergreen started as a series of letters from my future self,” Hayes previously shared in a statement. “In some ways a prayer, and in some ways manifestation. I wanted to make a project from the future. It’s full of hope, optimism, light and love. It’s an escape from reality as well as a new way to appreciate the good things in our everyday life, and how every experience shapes us to better and brighter versions of ourselves as we create a better version of our future.”
