Tigirlily Gold surprised the audience with a Grammy-winning guest when the sister duo took the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage on Tuesday night (July 22) in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 2024 Academy of Country Music New Duo of the Year — made up of sisters Kendra and Krista Slaubaugh — said on the Opry stage that throughout their career so far, “there’s been some people who have been so, so kind to us. And the best thing, too, about a Tuesday night is that your artist friends aren’t out on the road for the weekend. So, we thought tonight we’d bring out a special guest. I think you all will know, and you definitely love her: Opry member Carly Pearce.”

Pearce was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2021 by country icon Trisha Yearwood (after accepting her surprise invitation from Dolly Parton). She joined Tigirlily Gold to cover “Cowboy Take Me Away,” an unforgettable late 90s single that The Chicks debuted on the trio’s 14-track studio record, Fly. That album also included “Ready to Run,” “Goodbye Earl” and more. Tigirlily Gold shared fan-recorded clips of the performance with Pearce on their Instagram story following the performance on Tuesday evening. They also shared clips of their rendition of their newest single, “Thinkin’ Bout That,” on the historic stage.

The Opry show also included performances by Hudson Westbrook, Niko Moon, Matthew West, Jimmy Fortune, Rhonda Vincent and comedian Henry Cho. See photos from the show below.
